Every year one or more call/s with a variable number of PhD positions is/are open. The call for admission to the PhD may also include positions linked to a specific topic. Admission to the PhD course will depend upon an evaluation of both the candidates’ titles and a research project presented along with the application form. Admitted PhD students will be encouraged to go abroad during the PhD with a 50% increase of the fellowship.
How it works

When the call is open (published on this website and at the following link: https://www.unipd.it/en/phd-programmes-calls-and-admissions), candidates can apply through an online dedicated platform where they can send all the required information, together with their Curriculum Vitae and a Research Project focused on the topics of the PhD in Crop Science. Templates for both the curriculum vitae and the research project to present with the application are available in the DOWNLOADS page in the section “Downloads/templates for PhD candidates“.

When a candidate submits the application, she/he is given some specific information by email that must be retained for the following steps of the selection, such as an individual ID (for privacy purposes) and a password to access the documentation that will be released during the procedure. The candidates are recommended to retain their IDs and passwords in order to be able to promptly access the documents.

After the closure of the call, a dedicated Commission of the PhD in Crop Science carries out the evaluation of both the curriculum and the research project presented by each candidate and makes a ranking of all the candidates with specific scores based on…, the innovative nature and originality of the research project and its consistency with the topics of the PhD program.

Only candidates above a certain score threshold will be allowed to participate to the next step, i.e. the interview. After the interview, the Commission will make the final ranking with the winner of the selection, who will be contacted thereafter and assisted in the following steps.
