On May, 9th 2012, at the Pentagono building (Room 11), 2.30 pm, Dr. Azeddine Si-Ammour (see a brief curriculum below) will give a seminar titled “miRNA-mediated regulation of auxin signaling“. See the attached announcement for more information.

Azeddine Si-Ammour studied at the University of Geneva Switzerland where he obtained his degree in Biology. He obtained his Master degree in Plant physiology and molecular biology at the university of Geneva Switzerland working on volatile compound in plants. He then obtained his PhD (Doctor rerum naturalium) at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland in plant molecular biology working in Phtypathology. He then worked for several years at the Friedrich Miescher Institute (FMI) for the Novartis research foundation in Basel in Switzerland. He worked on post-transcriptional gene silencing and epigenetics. He is employed by the Fondazione Edmund Mach since 2007 as a group leader aiming to study gene regulation in fruits trees including post-transcriptional and transcriptional regulation. He has expertise in research on microRNAs, small RNAs, RNA-directed DNA methylation and plant epigenetic mechanisms. He has a special interest in the gene regulation and biological functions of transcription factors during fruit development and abiotic stress.

1. REGISTRATION

During the registration process you have to provide a username (please choose your name and surname, in the format Name Surname, as a username) and a valid email address (Figure 1), to which the password that will be automatically generated by the system will be sent (pay attention, it could be classified as SPAM).

2. FIRST ACCESS

For the first access, you should use the username you provided during the registration process along with the password sent to your email address (Figure 2).

3. USER PREFERENCES

You will be readdressed to the user profile page (Figure 3), where you should reset the password according to your preferences (Figure 4).

You will be notified about the reliability of your password while typing (please use capital/small/digits/punctuation).

Once typed your new password, click on “Aggiorna profilo”.

4. NEWSLETTER PREFERENCES

Upon registration to SPV, you will automatically subscribe also to the newsletter. In order to change your preferences, please click on “Subscribe2″, the last menu item on your left below “Bacheca” and “Profilo” (Figure 5).

The first custom preference affects the format of the notification email. You can leave it on “Plain Text – Excerpt” or change as you prefer. Then you can choose if being notified about posts of new categories (created after your registration) and which categories you want to be updated about. All categories are selected by default. Select or deselect  according to your preferences.  The last preference concerns the authors whose posts you want to be notified of. Please leave all authors. If you select an author you will not be notified of his posts anymore. At the end, click on “Aggiorna preferenze”.

5. LOGOUT

If you want to logout, point with the mouse (without clicking) at the top right of the page (Figure 6) and click on Logout within the new window. Every time you want to change your preferences or update your profile, you can access your profile in the home page of the SPV italian site or navigate to the login page http://www.sciproveg.com/it/wp-login.php. Have a nice trip.
